Wednesday 14th May 2008

Part 2: Coober Pedy & Conference  [Full Registration:  $360]
Settle in to Accommodation @ Desert Cave, Opal Inn, Underground Motel, Mud Hut Motel, Radekas or camping grounds (delegates to organise own accommodation).

 

Thursday 15th May 2008  

EDUCATION MEETING 9:00 AM TO NOON
WORKSHOP ON JADE VALUATION 2:00PM TO 4:00 PM (Tay Thye Sun)
Multiple options - user pays. Tom’s Working opal mine / Umoona mine and Museum guided tour Opal Cave, Old Timers Mine, Opal shops and galleries. Catacombs, Breakaways;          Or organise own tours available from Desert Cave.
Swagabout tours: trip to dog fence and Breakaways then on to Painted Desert and Arckaringa Hills. ($80 ), Requires booking in advance(on registration form).
Evening: 5:30 pm  Dinner at Serbian Club and tour of the Underground Orthodox Church.
Drinks available at bar.

 

  Friday 16th May 2008

GAA MEETINGS ALL DAY & FCM (Desert Cave).
Others-free time for tours and shopping.
Evening: 6:30 pm: Cocktail party – Desert Cave ; Miners display of rough @ cut opal & fossils. Drinks and nibbles on the out door balcony area. No rain planned for Friday 16.
Dinner afterwards if required at a locality of your choice.

1. 10:00 am Tay Thye Sun , Singapore  : Identification  of Jade
2.10:45 am  Emmanuel Fritsch, France:  Opal Structure
MORNING TEA 11:30 – 12:00
3. 12:45pm  Terry Coldham, Sydney : Coloured gemstones; the current scenario.
LUNCH 1:00 – 2:00 UMBERTOS RESTAURANT
4. 2:00pm Tay Thye Sun , Singapore  :  Valuing jade.
AFTERNOON TEA 3:00 – 3:30
5. 3:30pm  Emmanuel Fritsch, France: Coloured diamonds.
Evening : 6:30 Pre - dinner drinks & Dinner in UMBERTOS
