Geoff Tombs Research Fund
Geoffrey Tombs Research Fund
The Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA) is very proud to offer the Geoffrey Tombs Research Fund. It was established in 2004 with an initial grant from the GAA Federal Council, with continuing contributions from the GAA endorsed Gem Studies Laboratory (GSL), in memory of the remarkable contribution Geoff Tombs made to the gem and jewellery industry. Geoff was always interested in research and the furthering of education within the industry. He was Patron and Honorary Life Member of the GAA and was awarded Member of the Order of Australia.
The Geoffrey Tombs Research Fund is available to fund gemmological research by approved applicants. Applicants must be members of the Gemmological Association of Australia, with GAA Diploma in Gemmology or equivalent and be an Australian resident.
