Through this course you will learn a short history of natural and cultured pearls, as well as their treatments and imitations. You will learn how to identify a pearl (natural or cultured) from an imitation – very handy for those op shop excursions. There will be hands on identification with lots of samples to view. On the second day you will learn to knot pearls like a professional! This includes tying the knots in between each pearl to prevent loss of pearls if the necklace snaps, as well as preventing the pearls from rubbing together and abrading which is of particular help for the longevity of cultured pearls.
