Who James Brown?

James Brown
James Brown is a third-generation Pearler with a degree in Marine Biology. James manages the original Australian owned and operated pearl farm at, Cygnet Bay near Broome. He has also teamed up with Broken Bay Pearls, north of Sydney to form “Pearls of Australia”. James has transformed the farms into educational platforms using tourism as the driver. He is a strong believer that the industry has a bright future if it can transform to add value to consumers and cutting-edge science to confront its significant challenges.

James gives back to his communities with his knowledge and passion. He has set up the Kimberley Marine Research Station, helped with a significant exhibition of Pearling history called “Lustre” touring Australia, supports Indigenous communities and is on many boards supporting tourism, fisheries, marine science and economic development and is an ambassador to Save the Children in WA
